On Christmas Day in the evening we did our annual grilling party. We added a new twist this year since we have some parents and children who have chosen to eat vegetarian. They can still eat the soup and noodles so they can still enjoy the fun and sitting and talking.
When we're getting ready for the party, the kitchen becomes a crazy scene. We had students bringing Christmas gifts as well as vegetables and meat for the grills. Somehow it always gets washed and prepared in a timely manner, but I still don't know how.
We have a nice carport that allows for many people to grill. After this picture was taken, we still added a few more people including two foreigners who were staying at P'Nung's guesthouse. It's no problem culturally to be invited to a party and to invite more people to go with you.
The kids always finish grilling first so we set them up playing a game of spoons.
Then when some of them got bored with spoons, we let them build snowmen.
And some of the snowmen turned into zombies. :)
It's always a lot of work getting ready for the grilling parties, but we really enjoy hosting them. We had several parents come this time as well as the students from Rusty's college and career class. I think everyone leaves full and happy having spent fun time together.
