Deputation/Furlough

We did make it to the States although you can't really tell by my lack of updates on the blog. It's rather hard while we're in the States because we don't have internet at our house, and I never think to get a blog entry typed up ready for when we are connected.

Chris has fixed us up with cell phones so we are a bit more connected this time as Rusty's is a blackberry, and we can check our facebook and email even though it's awkward to reply on the cell phone. It's been a great blessing!

So here's a little bit of what we've been up to. Rusty's mom and dad met us at the airport and then drove us over to a Cracker Barrel where we had breakfast with my mom. She already had pictures upload to Facebook before we even left the restaurant. I don't even know how to do that yet! :D

We went to Texarkana to rest up that Saturday night so we could get up and go again the next morning. Rusty filled in for Bro. Glenn during both services as Bro. Glenn was out of town. It might have seemed crazy to do that so quickly, but we knew our time in the States was going to go by very quickly and our schedule was filling quickly. We love to spend time with our church family and try to go as often as possible.
On Monday evening we traveled to North Little Rock where we attended both weeks of the World Missions Seminar hosted by Faith Baptist Church. We cannot express how much we enjoyed this and how beneficial we feel that these two weeks were for us. We strongly encourage all to attend it whether you're a new missionary, veteran missionary, a pastor, or church member. There's something for everyone! Things took on a different meaning as I have officially experienced many of the things they were talking about. And it's an encouraging time to be around others who are faithfully serving Him no matter what side of the globe they are on.We also started the deputation trail. It's a fun time even though the miles and sleeping in strange beds are tiring, the fellowship and encouragement we gain from it are very valuable. We are very appreciative of all of the time people spend with us and the sweet fellowship we get to enjoy.And lastly we've been enjoying the countryside. I read that this was supposed to be a great year for Texas bluebonnets, and I've kept the camera close beside me during our travels. They are absolutely beautiful this year, and I'm really glad we're here during the Spring.
