Decorating

The Sunday after Thanksgiving we decorated the Christmas tree. Rusty filled in for Brent that morning, we went to a gift fair in town, and then returned home to get the Christmas festivities started. I had been trying to get everyone to hold off until after Thanksgiving, but now it was time to get the Christmas carols playing!
We had a lot of fun at the gift fair. It was so busy, but we found lots of cute handmade Christmas bags, cards, and boxes.
Then it was home to decorate. I think the most fun was watching Hope and Pawn. :) We all enjoyed it, but I was kind of disappointed that our cheap Christmas light strands started falling apart...literally. Thankfully we did have enough to do the tree.

Rusty preaching and Kai Mook translating. This one is for the "grandparents" and "family" of Kai Mook in America. :)
The professional tree decorators are hanging the nativity set ornaments on the tree. I bought these at an international school sale three years ago. They're really cute, but the characters are not wearing Thai outfits.Hope is busy arranging ornaments. We learned that we have to mesh family traditions together. Rusty started the lights at the top and wrapped the lights. Hope started her lights next and draped the lights. This year we ended up with wrapped lights. If Hope had been tall enough to start at the top it might have been different. Haha!Pawn has a real eye for making things pretty so she was busy making sure all of the ornaments were in the right spot. I only put a few ornaments on, but I think I had the most fun watching everyone else!

Rusty took this video of Hope and Pawn finding my Precious Moments nativity tea set. It was cute! I do want to add that I didn't know Rusty was taking a video! I hate my recorded voice, and I don't usually go around saying "nanner." We had been teaching Pawn some southern words that weekend like "taters" and "maters." :) I was just continuing the teaching!
