Rusty took a trip to a village (I'll have him blog about his trip) on Friday, and so I taught his English class for him. When he came to pick me up, he offered to take me to a movie. Underdog opened here on October 4, and we decided to see if it was playing. When we arrived at the mall, we went to check on showtimes only to find out it was no longer playing. Even though there were now playing posters and they had special cups and popcorn bowls promoting Underdog displayed, it was no longer playing. So we went to eat dinner at a Japanese noodle shop and then did some shopping for our furlough trip. We stopped at a DVD store on our way out of the door and found an old Jerry Lewis movie on VCD for 59 Baht. So we went home to have our movie date. Unfortunately by the time we settled in to watch it, we only laughed for about 20 minutes. Then I heard Rusty snoring. I decided I didn't want to watch a comedy by myself, so I shut the computer lid and turned over to sleep. I don't think I lasted another 5 minutes. Oh well, we'll try the date night again. Good thing the movie was on VCD! I would have been upset if we had paid 90 Baht per person for the theater and then fallen asleep!
ETA: On the way to the theater, Rusty and I both noticed what we thought was a group of people crossing the highway. When we got closer we found out it was actually and elephant and two people. I wonder how many people see elephants crossing the highway as part of their date night! :)
