Every once in a while I need a blog post to bring together all of the random pictures that can't support a complete post by themselves. So here is a potpourri post of several pictures that we've taken recently using Rusty's cell phone. Once he uploads them I know it's time for a post like this.

We saw this beautiful new vehicle in the parking lot of one of the grocery stores, but it was the license plate that caught our eye because of the lonely 9 at the end of it. I remember my Thai teacher telling me that there are "lucky" numbers here--odd ones being "luckier" than the evens. Apparently 3 is considered "lucky," but 9 is really "lucky" because it is 3x3. I don't know, but she also told me that most people are particular about what numbers go on their license plates. I'm glad we don't believe in all of that stuff--I would never be able to remember it all, and it would be a scary way to live!

We had to install a new water heater in Hope's bathroom. Thankfully the landlord paid for this one. Here are Rusty and Pawn looking at the instructions. In this bathroom, Pawn was the one who had to crawl under the sink to reach the installation point. She's become quite handy around the house, and she enjoys doing it! I'm just thankful Rusty knows a lot about this stuff and can get Pawn to help him. Even though hiring someone to do it for us is not that expensive here, it still saves us money.

We just liked the sign for drug counseling. Does the window in America say the same thing?

You probably can't see what's written on the back glass of this car. It's an apology because the car doesn't go over 60 km/h. It's probably been a trusty Escort since it's still running!

With the beginning of fall I start wanting things with apples and pumpkin. These are some homemade apple fritters. They taste really good, and they have more apple chunks than the ones you buy from the bakeries in America!

Sometimes I want something from the market, and Pawn decides to make it herself. One day I wanted some sticky rice with pumpkin custard on top. Pawn decided to make the pumpkin custard herself. In this picture we have the fire in the bottom, water in the aluminum pan, the pumpkin in the steam basket, and the pumpkin custard inside of the pumpkin. She left it out overnight, and the next day we had yummy pumpkin custard. My favorite part was the custard-not the cooked pumpkin, but most everyone else enjoyed the whole thing. I enjoyed the bites of pumpkin as long as I topped it with the custard.

I've been going with Rusty to teach in the schools some, and this is my payment. I have found my substitute for Sonic. This is Milo Dip. It's blended milk and ice. Then in the middle they put some sweetened condensed milk and milo powder and then again on top. You get your choice of four toppings for the top. In addition to the mini oreos, cookie sticks, and frosted flakes, they also have fruit gummies. I've been switching between the Milo Dip and the coffee malt. I've even tried the blended milk, ice, and oreo drink. They are all good! I haven't branched out too much because I find their menu a little bit overwhelming, but I throw in something new every once in a while! It's probably a good thing I don't have a vehicle during the week...weight loss would be much harder than it already is!
