It's hard when you're serving overseas to understand that the people in the host country are going to have a different way of doing things. The missionary has a choice. He or she can force the new people to adopt American customs and traditions, or the missionary can allow the people to proceed in a manner that is culturally appropriate. As long as it is not against the Bible, we must not try to make everyone confirm to our way of doing things. Hopefully the missionary will also enjoy the new culture and enjoy life on the field.
